Hello there! Dronko fire blaster has just published a maze/parkour map called The sewers of Nerazi! The whole project was designed and built using Mazemaker MAXI :-D
Your objective will be to find your way to get to the pumps to start them back up, but it won't be as easy as it seems! Try it here...
With this update, the shift sector circuits have been redesigned in a much more stable design. Navigating the sector grid is now faster, smoother and a couple of possible glitches have been removed, one of them even caused the loss of layout data! I've also added a DEBUG MENU which gives you advanced options to reset systems in case something should ever go wrong for unknown reasons.
Aside from that, the directional interface pack has also been improved with the addition of 48 new symbols!
Many types of directional template symbols available!
Update details: +Added the Debug Menu +Added the safety protocols [Reset Compass] +Added the safety protocols [Unlock Sectors] *Fixed a bug where not using the BACK button in V3s control room which may cause the control room to not appear. *Fixed a glitch in the switch sector circuits may cause misalignment between the compass and the active sector.
+Added Appendix A and Appendix B to the user guide.
Thanks to those who participated to the stream, I'll publish it also on youtube in case you missed it and want to see it If you have any questions, please ask them here, also, did you have any problems with the stream? Twitch seemed quite slow today.
Thank you so much for watching the stream! Yes as you saw this is really the ultimate modular assembler, there is no need for walls because you chose the size as you need. This is a long term project that will receive some updates in the future, so it's not a problem if you don't use it right now because it will be well supported also in the future.
I want to use it as a base map too when I have time!
With the feedback gathered (from what I saw), you went way above it. Definitely a v3 name worth as an total overhaul. Amount of templates, 90!, I only expected like 40 or something... No walls any-more. Considering the size not necessary + not only for mazes any-more.
Those template buttons... no need for mc-edit or the amulet editor that way. Add the scanner thing to it. It's more than I could possibly think of.
Only thing I know, it's (90% sure) going to be a default starter map for me. Do get some ideas although some other game named monster hunter rise is nagging for attention.
Next weekend, I will present my new project live! It's a new MazeMaker, in its third iteration.
This is the new generation of modular assembling technologies, designed with all the knowledge acquired during the maze making contest. It's a tool that will allow you to create much more than only mazes.
This project has come out seriously much more complex than I initially though and an incredible amount of work went into it, it's not just an improvement from the old version. If you want to know why, watch the stream!
Hi everyone, here is just a little status report, I've noted down all your feedback on the last post and I'm currently working on the new MazeMaker (temporary code name: V3)
Even if I already know how to build something like this, V3 has revealed to be a much more challenging project than I expected, in purpose but also technologically speaking. In order to make things work, I've had to overcome a huge series of technical obstacles which required me to create and adopt very unconventional solutions several times. Some of these problems even risked to halt the project entirely!
I'd like to tell you more on what's going on, but I don't want to spoil the surprise! Anyway, I can still leave a sneak peak from the construction site... stay tuned!
Hello everyone, quick question! I'm currently working on a new iteration of the MazeMaker project (V3.0) and I'd like to hear your feedback. If you used MazeMaker Deluxe V2.0, is there some feature in particular that you'd like to see implemented? Something that maybe you really would've liked in the current machine? Thanks :-)
P.S. I just noticed I received the 7 years trophy here on the site, time sure flies...
Yes now I get it! I'll think about it, self replicating machines are much more complicated than mazemaker V2.0, well technically it's possible though, but you would be required to fill all the plots every time and there would be only a fixed number. Who knows, maybe one day... :-)
Hi Melygoomba! Thanks for the feedback! I'll try to do something for 1 and 2, but I don't understand 3! I already put a chest with all the template materials in the control room, what did you mean? Thanks again
Congratulations your 7 years on PMC! Mine since 22 june 2019 :)
Feedback on your Maze Maker? hummm let me think.....oh! Yes there a few:
1- add second entrance example: a platform or something a bit far away from edge of wall... it's more fun
2- commands buttons allowing to go daylight time cycle: day or night, gamemode ( for testing necessary such as survival mode ) etc 3- chest ready each templates? When you get inventory full and need some more for instance
4) the thing mentioned by h4unt3dg71tch for older computers.
p.s.) see link for quick sketch of the city procedural maze maker, essentially the template workshop hooked up to a modified maze maker. Rather than designing the maze, you make the building blocks of the city & let it random generate in the same map (with clear-all function + no-post-processing for you) with a boundary to prevent trouble.
Thanks eagoy! 1) keeping an eye for it 2) yep! also has been already fixed for MM Deluxe in update 2.5 3) already making space for an obsidian blast shield
4) what do you mean exactly? 5) I'll put something for that 6) I'll still try to increase a bit the number of templates, it gives more possibilities!
7) Already considered! I didn't increase it in MM Deluxe because some people were having lag problems
Could you tell me more about your PS? I don't think I got what you meant :-)
Hey, did you know that my entry for the RTX event, the Meltrock Fortress, includes a working MaxeMaker machine? Try generating your own castles in the valley! Also, give a diamond if you like it! (the machine is in the Java download only)
P.S. I also have a small update, something related to all these recent maze submissions, but I'll tell you more when the maze contest is officially concluded...
I have created a gallery that includes all the maps created with MazeMaker, It's like a minigame library where you can easily find all the great challenges created until now! It includes all the contest participants, my example maps and also the future ones. If you create something with MazeMaker, write "@Gheppio" in the description or write me a message, I'll put your map with the others in the collection :-D
Built over a deadly lava lake in forgotten times, this cursed castle instills fear in all the inhabitants of the valley. Nobody knows whose mansion was it or if it has always been like this, and all the explorers who tried to find a way in never came back. Are you really sure you want to go there? Good luck.
Happy Wednesday! This is just a mid week reminder that there's still time to create an entry into the Maze Making Contest! ALL Skill levels are encouraged to give it a shot! You can have a completed entry in just under a few hours, since the machine does a lot of the heavy work for you!
Okay! What do I do? 1. Download the Maze Maker Deluxe. This starter map contains templates - the elements that will compose your maze. Build your walls, corridors, traps, challenges and more! Easy peasy.
2. Draw the maze layout in the provided map chests.
The two example maze maps I made for the Maze Making contest have been featured on the styckypiston.co website. Basically this site is able to create a free temporary server with the map in it, it could be helpful if you'd like to play one of these maps with friends without having a server yourself. You can fin the map pages here: The Challenge Maze - The Tree Maze
Since we are in a very maze-focused month here on PMC, I thought of updating one of my previous maze maps to the latest mc version: The Randomaze! Play alone or up to 4 player teams, you will have to fight each other in a maze that shifts its configuration randomically in time, wins the first who finds one of the keys and brings it to the exit.
This map was posted on the site 6 years ago, and is now been updated from mc 1.8 to 1.16.
Welcome to the Tree maze! This example represents instead what I call as "directional" maze: template contents have an orientation and need to be associated correctly in order to make a path. This example includes a huge park with wooden catwalks suspended between its trees and also a couple of hidden tree houses.
Seems that many people are making plans for their contest submissions! I'm receiving a lot of questions and feedback, and I'm trying to answer to all of you as quickly as possible. Meanwhile MisterGriimm has shared in a blog his "behind the scenes" work he's doing for his maze. He is also giving away some of the tools (maps & diagrams) that helped him in the process. Go take a look, there may be some helpful things for you too there!
Welcome to the Challenge maze! This example represents what I call as a "binary" maze: templates have no orientation and only one primary function: wall, path, trap etc. Many special templates are also included, like doors, lava pits, mini-mazes, bridges, parkour bridges, timed doors, traps and more!
MazeMaker Deluxe is a machine that will easily allow you to generate and customize your mazes or challenge tracks! 1)Build your templates, the elements that will compose your maze. Build your walls, corridors, traps, challenges and more! 2)Draw the maze layout in the map chests. 3)Compile the maze! Just press the button and the machine will build everything for you.
