| Old Netherack Prior to the somewhat recent nether update, there was a much more crude texture inhabiting the barren lands of the Nether. Anyway, I'm pretty sure there are plenty of Jappa backport texture packs floating around for beta 1.7.3. Although I don't know about any versions before or after that...
The old one had that distinct, noisy, and visceral look to it. It looked like rotten guts.
