Me and my brother just replayed What remains of Edith finch, and I’ve cracked up a theory. We watched the game theory on it, and we were skeptical. For starters, Molly going to bed without dinner cause she ate all her Halloween candy? That’s what many parents would do in that situation. It’s not like Molly would starve. So I did some digging and tried to find out how each Finch died, the real story. Let’s start with Molly. She says that she will be eaten by a monster, one that she became once. But I believe different. We hear Edie say it’s late. Maybe Molly fell asleep and dreamt up this whole scenario, and believed it was real. She did wake up in her bed, and the monster is nowhere to be seen. But that still leaves the question, how did she die? Well, she tells us that she was told not to climb in the big tree. I think she fell. Now let’s do Gus. Pretty easy one, he was caught up in a tornado while everyone else was inside. For Calvin, its sketchy, but he probably died from launching off the swing, we can take that at face value. Sam can also be taken at face value, there is photo evidence. For Barbra, we dive deep again. We see the roller skates, and she probably slipped and fell while in a fight with her boyfriend after he tried to scare her. Then the boyfriend ran away, cause keep in mind, he also disappeared that night. Walter witnessed it, and went down to the bunker for 30 years. The shaking can be explained by Edie trying to get him to come out, probably knew about it from his whimpering. As for his death, he may have not looked ahead and fell off the track, cause we see the track is broken. Gregory did drown, that is pretty obvious. One of the toys probably fell and turned the water on again. With Lewis, his therapist says it all, he was so trapped in his own mind that he didn’t know what was happening and accidentally chopped off his head. (he was working at a cannery near a thing that cuts off fish heads) he also did drugs so that participated in it. As for Milton, he may have found out about Walter and was so horrified he ran away. Edie then turned these stories into magical tales, which was a coping mechanism. She always wanted fame for herself and her family. Even though she did have a bit of a twisted mind, she didn’t cause any of the deaths.
